THIS IS A ARC REVIEW, and may have spoilers.
Neal Romriell did a masterful at building believable characters, and a
world where cryptids walk the earth. The Family, is one such group who
makes sure these creatures, stay safe and hidden. Chuck is our FMC, and
while she is tough, she is also caring. I really enjoyed seeing multiple
women in this book who cold hold their own.
This book at times
reminded me of Special Unit 2, the TV Show. In it you have cops who
protect good cryptids, but Judge/Jury/Etc. the bad ones. I loved that
show, just like I loved other ones like that. So, getting to read a book
about this sort of thing made me so excited.
This book, really
is a good 5/5 stars read. I had a hard time putting it down, even though
I was sick with covid, again. So, please take a chance on this debut
novel.
